The Firm regularly handles retaliation cases and has won such cases through trial. For instance, in the case of Emmons v. AT&T, New Jersey Superior Court, Law Division, New Brunswick, Middlesex County, the Firm fought against a Fortune 500 corporation that was represented by a large, institutional law firm. The Firm defeated AT&T’s summary judgment motion. The Firm won a jury trial resulting in a $123,975 award, where the jury found that our client was the victim of retaliation because she had reported discrimination under New Jersey’s discrimination law.

In Tafur v. Plainfield Board of Education, New Jersey Superior Court, Law Division, Union County, the Firm fought a public entity that was represented by a large, institutional law firm. The Firm defeated the Board’s summary judgment motion. After a two week jury trial, the Firm obtained a $150,000 settlement based. Ms. Tafur alleged that she was retaliated against under the FMLA and under New Jersey’s discrimination law.

Recently, the Firm successful resolved cases in several counties involving claims of retaliation. In New Jersey Superior Court, Newark, Essex County, the Firm resolved a whistleblower claim for $100,000 after the case was listed for trial. In New Brunswick, Middlesex County, the Firm resolved a retaliation claim under New Jersey’s discrimination law for $225,000.
